CARY, N.C. - NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!! Boston College lacrosse culminated a magical season with a come-from-behind 14-13 win against Northwestern on Sunday afternoon in Cary, N.C. at WakeMed Soccer Park.

The Eagles are one of eight schools with multiple lacrosse championships, and its their second since 2021. BC finishes the season with 20 wins for the third time in program history and the senior class bookends a national title after capturing a championship in '21 as freshmen.

BC fought back from a 6-0 first-quarter deficit and wouldn't take its first lead until the 9:39 mark of the fourth quarter after Andrea Reynolds' second goal of the game, giving BC a 12-11 lead.

Kayla Martello, who led the spark in the comeback, scored her fifth goal of the contest to cap off what was a 4-0 run early in the fourth and give her team a 13-11 edge.

After Northwestern answered, Shea Dolce came up with a pivotal save that led to a transition goal from Mckenna Davis, which gave the Eagles a 14-12 advantage.

The Wildcats had a chance to tie up the contest with less than a minute left after slicing the lead to one. However, Dolce came away with the crucial save that led to the clock running out for the triumph.

Boston College responded after the scoreless first period, as it outscored Northwestern, 6-2. Martello led the charge with four scores in the frame, giving the Eagles momentum going into the break.

Ryan Smith scored the first goal of the second half to bring the gap to one, 8-7. The Wildcats scored two straight to stretch the lead back to three. BC stayed on NW's tails thanks to a  Davis goal that sliced the lead to one following an Emma LoPinto score.

Clark answered Izzy Scane's fourth-period tally with back-to-back goals to tie up the contest, which led to the thrilling finish.

Martello was named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player after scoring five goals. She scored 11 goals through the ACC Championship (six) and today. Rachel Clark posted a pair of scores with a career-high four assists.

Reynolds posted five draw controls with two scores and an assist. Dolce posted six of her nine saves in the second half.

Davis, Dolce, Clark, LoPinto and Martello were named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.
